i saw something…

…and it made me bark.  i have a pretty good bark.  It surprises me when it comes out of my mouth.  i growled too.  i know i saw something but Gracie did not see it.  We were on an adventure walk and this thing was down the hill by the driveway.  Then we walked home.  i also barked at a squirrel earlier.  i never saw one to bark at before.  Gracie sees them all the time.  i found a good place where i can watch squirrels.

This is called a cat tree.  it is for watching squirrels.  And crawling in.

i went in the car today.

We went to that place we went before where they give me lots of treats and look at me.  They said i got two ‘shots’ but i did not feel anything.  Then they put something on my back that did not feel good.  Then i got more treats.  We stopped the car on the way back and i had a small nap.  Just when we got home i threw up stuff.  It looked like food and i was hungry so i ate some.

i was real tired and had a long nap while the dog thing was on tv.  So i missed it.

I’m new

Hi.  My name i think is George.  i am not clear about names quite yet.  i was born on Oct 24, 2012.  i am 14 weeks old.  That is not very old i am told.  i am a puppy.

Everything is very new to me, but i am trying to learn.  i am the new generic black dog.  i did not get to meet the other generic black dogs that used to live here, but i hear stuff about them.  Like we sometimes walk on Dave’s trail.  i like it, it smells good.

My friend here is Gracie.  She is not a generic black dog.  She is a ‘twisted tail oregon terrier’.  That is a good kind of dog too.

Here is my picture.

Joke

A dog went to a telegram office, took out a blank form and wrote: “Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof.”

The clerk examined the paper and politely told the dog, “There are only nine words here. You could send another ‘Woof’ for the same price.”

The dog replied, “But then it wouldn’t make any sense at all!”

I was a bad dog…

It was really, really windy last night and I got very scared.  It makes me nervous and I pant and drool and pace.  No one except Hal can sleep.  I don’t know how Hal does it.  But she does.  Anyway, everyone got mad at me.  I am really, really sorry. It is still windy, and I am trying not to get nervous.   So far so good.  I am tired too.

Baseball season is only one week away!  We have watched some spring training games, but they are not as fun.  This year we are all managing fantasy baseball teams.  We all have three total teams.

I think I will do predictions this year.  Stand by for that.

Your friend,

Dave

Fantasy baseball

We have started work on our priority pick list for fantasy baseball.  I help.

Why does the water in the bowl outside on the deck taste so much better than the water in the house?  I test it every day, and sure enough, it tastes better.  Hal thinks so too.

It was cold and windy today.  Not long ago it was sunny and warm and we got to lay in the grass in the backyard.  It was nice.  We like the lawn.  It’s ours, but we are not supposed to pee on it.  I’m not sure why.

It’s almost dinner time, the best time of the day!

Bye,

Dave

Happy new year

Hello,

“Years” really don’t mean anything to dogs, but you should be happy anyway.  I am.  We walked all the way to the mailbox today.  It was hard, but fun.  We saw some deer when we were almost home.  My person tried to grab me before I ran after the deer and I fell down.   I’m okay.  We got to use our “really excited” barks.

So the A’s finally got a real 3rd baseman.  We were all wondering why they were stocking up on so many outfielders.  I think Eric Chavez should retire like I did.  He is in about the same shape as me!  You have to know when to quit.

Only 32 days until spring training!

Your friend,

Dave

Yankees

I think if the Yankees came into my yard, I would bite them.

Ha ha ha.

World Series

We didn’t watch it all, the World Series.  I didn’t know I could be disappointed.  I never heard of a dog being disappointed, but I think that is what it was.  It’s sooo much more fun when that Yankee team doesn’t win.  This World Series was boring.  The Yankee team is boring.  It has no soul.  One of our people says that cheering for that team would be like cheering for Exxon or IBM or Wall Street or something.  I don’t quite understand, but I get it a little.  I really don’t understand money.  What is it and why do people talk so much about it?

Anyway, baseball is over for this year.  Maybe next year will be better.  I think I would like to have a fantasy baseball team next year all of my own.  Or maybe I’ll share with Hal.

I got my shot today and got weighed (which is scary).  I am 85.1 lbs.  The Dr. also poked my ear with a needle and pumped out some blood.  It hurt, but I did not cry.  They told me it would make my ear feel better.  It’s been a little sore.

We came home and started a fire in the stove.  I like sleeping in front of the fire.  It feels good.  I think we will go for a walk soon.

Bye for now, from your friend,

Dave

Playoffs

I said I would tell you who I would like to win the baseball playoffs.  It is a few days later I think, but I will tell you anyway.  I liked the Twins, but they lost to that really Bad Team.  I liked that the Boston team lost today.  They are almost as Bad.  I don’t really know about the PHI-COL series, probably the Rockies.  I do think they should have played in the snow yesterday.  What’s wrong with playing in the snow?  I like playing in the snow (except the part about losing the ball in the snow).matt-holliday-blows-the-game

The best one was the Dodgers-Cardinals.  I liked the 2nd game.  We were just getting ready to go for a walk.  “Just wait until the end of this inning…”   We were excited anyway.  Then we were jumping up and down!  It was fun.  Turns out it all started with Matt Holliday not catching the ball.  When I was playing ball, sometimes I didn’t catch it.  That’s okay.  But he doesn’t always try.  I saw that when he was with the A’s.  He sometimes looked like he didn’t care about getting to the ball.  Always go for the ball.  Always.  I did.  Every time.  And I never got hit in the “stomach” when I missed the ball.

The best World Series would be Dodgers-Twins.  But I think that can’t be.  So I guess it has to be Dodgers-Angels.  The Angels are not a Good Team, but they are not Bad either.
